The Social Security Administration has established a hotline to help Social Security, Medicare and some Medicaid recipients who are displaced. Please call (800) 772-1213, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. That number will help get checks to people who don't receive direct deposit. Otherwise, direct deposit should be operating with minimum disruptions. Medicare/Medicaid also has a toll-free number: (800) 633-4227. Because some people will be staying in north Texas for a while, they can also sign up for Texas Medicaid benefits at (877) 236-6500.
