Abdul Rahman in Italy, TIME in the United States

Abdul Rahman is now safely in Italy, though I’m sure that the Islamofascists have targeted him for execution, but things are not any better for Christians in other parts of Afghanistan (or for any other Muslim-controlled area of the world, for that matter).

KABUL, March 28 2006, (LifeSiteNews.com) – US-based Christian news source, Compass Direct, reports that more Christians have been arrested for their faith in Afghanistan in the wake of the release of Abdul Rahman. Compass, a news service that tracks persecution of Christians mostly in Islamic countries, says harassment of the Christian community has been stepped up.

Compass says two more Christian converts have been arrested in other parts of the country, but further information is being withheld in the “sensitive situation” caused by the international media furor over Rahman.

Reports of beatings and police raids on the homes of Christians are filtering out of the country through local Christian ministers.

Meanwhile, TIME Magazine is calling Abdul Rahman a deadbeat dad who abused his daughters and parents. DhimmiWatch reports:

It never seems to occur to Time that anyone in Afghanistan might have any interest in blackening Abdul Rahman’s name, and they retail these stories from supposedly disinterested officials and family members (that’s right, the family that turned him in for apostasy) without critical comment.

Most importantly, these stories are a gigantic red herring, of interest only to the most befogged dhimmis. It doesn’t matter if Abdul Rahman is a deadbeat dad, a father stabber, a mother raper, or the second coming of Adolf Hitler. If he is any of those things, of course he should be prosecuted in a sane society by a sane court system. But ultimately whether he is or is not those things is irrelevant to the question of whether or not he is free, or should be free, to leave the Islamic religion in Afghanistan.
