Changes to Stingray
I have added some new features and fixed a few problems on the site over the last couple of days. First of all, I’ve added the Stingray News Channel, which gives up-to-the-minute news video clips from Reuters. This is a service offered through a joint venture between Reuters and Brightcove. Right now it’s free and I hope that it will remain that way, though I expect it to soon require viewers to see brief commercials prior to watching each story.
I have also made it easy to add entries to your favorite social bookmarking tools, thanks to some nifty code courtesy of Salt, Pepper, and Vinegar. Technorati tags are now visible and appear at the bottom of each post. I’ve speeded up things by eliminating some of the “merit badges” that required the download of graphics from 3rd-party sites.
I still have problems with the left sidebar jumping to the bottom of the page on individual archive pages that have comments. I don’t know exactly what’s wrong but I’ll tackle that problem soon. Other than that, the site is looking and functioning pretty much the way I want it to. Let me know if you have any problems or suggestions for improvement.
Enjoy!
