Michael pondering the universe

Welcome to Stingray’s Trackback Tuesday. I will be having this feature every Tuesday, so please plan on making it a weekly stop. Trackback Tuesday is now automated, so a new post will automatically appear at one second after midnight Central Time every Tuesday morning.

The entire concept  of having an open trackback is to encourage bloggers to showcase their best recent articles and give others a chance to click on the link and read them. By clicking on these links, you’ll get to know other people’s blogsites and other people will get to know your blogsite. Similarly, when others click on your link, they visit your site and get to read your post.

It’s all about sharing.

The two goals are:

  1. Showcase your articles on each other’s blogs to build traffic. People who read this post might find your link interesting and click on it to go to your site. That way, you increase the number of visitors to your site and increase your ranking.

  2. Create links between each other’s blogs to raise each other’s rankings. Don’t just link here and go away — read some of the posts from other people.

Here are the rules:

  1. Post about anything that’s in good taste. No porn, no spam, no profanity. I’ll accept the occasional Anglo-Saxon expletive if it’s necessary to your post but don’t use crude biological references. If you do, I will remove your trackback. If you continue to do so, I will ban you.

  2. Your post can be about anything. Stingray is a conservative Christian site but if you want to link me to a post expounding the virtues of atheism or liberalism then feel free to do so. Just remember Rule #1.

Send me a trackback of one or more of your favorite posts. There are 2 ways to place a trackback on this post.

  1. The preferred way is to place something at the bottom of your post like (Open trackback to Stingray). Link the word Stingray to the URL for this post. The URL for this post may be found by clicking Permalink at the bottom of this post and then looking for the section that says Trackbacks. The URL to this post from Stingray may then be found in the blue box with a dashed border.

  2. The second way is to either use your blogging software to manually send a ping or to use the Wizbang Standalone Trackback Pinger. Here are some quick instructions on using this tool:

    1. The Trackback Ping URL may be found by clicking Permalink at the bottom of this post and then looking for the section that says URL for this Entry. The trackback ping URL may then be found in the blue box with a dashed border.

    2. The Your Permalink URL is the link to your individual post, not the URL to this post that I gave above.

    3. Your Blog Name is self-explanatory.

    4. Title is the title of your post.

    5. Excerpt — well, that’s self-explanatory, too.

That’s it! Please do take a moment to look around and leave a comment about anything that interests you.
