Ethiopian and Somali troops fire on demonstrators, capture terrorist leader

The Ethiopians and the Somalis know how to formulate good rules of engagement. We could learn a lot from them. From EuroNews:
Ethiopian troops and Somali police have fired on demonstrators in Mogadishu killing at least three people in continued violence in parts of the Somali capital. Hundreds of demonstrators chanted anti-Ethiopian slogans and burned barricades in the streets in the Hurwa district.
It is considered a centre of support for Islamist militants recently driven out of by interim government forces and Ethiopian troops. Meanwhile, one of Somalia’s Islamist leaders, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, has surrendered to Kenyan authorities at the Somali border.
The highest-ranking Islamist to surrender so far, he was captured in an area near where the United States conducted an air strike against what it called al-Qaeda operatives two weeks ago.
The Ethiopians and the Somalis recognize that their countries are under attack from an enemy determined to destroy them at any cost. The appropriate response is to kill the enemy before they kill you. It’s sad that so many people in the US don’t even consider radical Islamists to be an enemy.
