Taking the life of an abortionist is wrong. Very, very wrong. I condemn this act and pray for the family of Dr. George Tiller.

Why is it wrong to take the life of an abortionist?

    1. It is against the law. This is obvious, but needs to be said. Christians are to obey the law except under extreme conditions. While the abortion laws are reprehensible, they do not rise to the level of providing an excuse to murder.
    2. Followers of God are not supposed to take the law into their own hands. The apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:19:  “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” See also Deuteronomy 32:35.
    3. Many longtime abortion extremists, like Norma McCorvey and Bernard Nathanson, have come to know God and are now working against abortion. I am not going to judge the state of Dr. Tiller’s soul. He may have been a believer or he may not have been. The person who killed Dr. Tiller denied Tiller the opportunity to come to his senses and become a crusader for life.
    4. Actions like this hurt the pro-life cause. This will give Obama and congress the perfect excuse to enact more laws to take away free speech from pro-lifers. We will not gain the respect of those who are not pro-life.
If you are pro-life, you need to speak loudly and condemn this killing.

From the Wichita Eagle

WICHITA - George Tiller, the Wichita doctor who became a national lightning rod in the debate over abortion, was shot to death this morning as he walked into church services.

Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim.

No information has been released about whether a suspect is in custody. Police said they are looking for white male who was driving a 1990s powder blue Ford Taurus with Kansas license plate 225 BAB.

Homicide detectives and Sedgwick County District Attorney Nola Foulston arrived at the church after the shooting.

Members of the congregation who were inside the sanctuary at the time of the shooting were being kept inside the church by police, and those arriving were being ushered into the parking lot. Witnesses are being transported downtown for interviews and other members of the congregation are slowly being released from inside the sanctuary.

Tiller has long been a focal point of protest by abortion opponents because his clinic, Women’s Health Care Services at 5701 E. Kellogg, is one of the few in the country where late-term abortions are performed.

“We are shocked at this morning’s disturbing news that Mr. Tiller was gunned down,” anti-abortion group Operation Rescue said in a statement on its Web site. “Operation Rescue has worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see him brought to justice. We denounce vigilantism and the cowardly act that took place this morning. We pray for Mr. Tiller’s family that they will find comfort and healing

Here’s a prediction:  Isarel will attack Iran to take out it’s nuclear facilities sometime in July or August, and perhaps as early as June. This is no real secret except to Americans who depend upon the mainstream media for their news.

What is my reasoning for this?

    1. In the recent election, Israel overwhelmingly voted for a hawkish government that would protect the country. Israeli citizens want their safety guaranteed. Half of the country supports an immediate strike on Iran.
    2. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly said that he will not allow Iran to gain access to nuclear weapons.
    3. President Barack Obama does not support Israel. A few days ago, the Obama administration stepped in to block the sale of six advanced Apache helicopters to Isreal out of concern that they might be used to harm Palestinans.
    4. The US estimates that Iran could have a nuclear bomb sometime in 2010. Israel believes that Iran could have nuclear capabilities in 2009.
    5. Less than two weeks ago, Iran successfully tested a missile that is capable of accurately striking anywhere in Israel.

Israel has little time to act, yet it must act in order to survive.

The largest preparedness drill in Israel’s history begins tomorrow and lasts for five days.

The exercise will begin Sunday at the weekly Cabinet meeting, with ministers expected to respond to the alert.

On Monday, local authorities will be included in the exercise, as will government ministries, Israel Police, the IDF, the National Emergency Authority and Home Front Command.

On Tuesday, an air raid siren will bring the rest of Israel into the drill, sounding the alert at precisely 11:00 a.m. in every community across the country. School teachers and staff members will guide their students into the bomb shelters, while citizens in offices and homes will be told to enter safe rooms. Roads will be blocked as well, as they might be during a real crisis.

On Wednesday, the National Security Cabinet will be drilled, and the national information and data management system will be tested.

The final day of the exercise will be held Thursday, when IDF units will carry out field exercises. The Home Front Command will continue drills at its headquarters as well.

This is on the heels of a 4-day military drill that simulated a war on three fronts: Syria, Gaza, and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Not only that, but Israel staged a drill earlier in May that took planes as far away as Gibraltar.

The Israel Air Force recently staged military exercises between Israel and the British colony of Gibraltar near southern Spain, the French magazine L’Express reported on Saturday.

The fact that the drills were held 3,800 kilometers away from Israel “confirms that the Israel Defense Forces is making concrete preparations” to attack Iran over its refusal to cooperate with the international community over its contentious nuclear program, according to L’Express.

Israel will want to attack while the civilian drill is still fresh in everyone’s minds. My estimate is that Israel will attack Iran in the July-August timeframe, and perhaps in June.

I don’t think that Israel will start out using nukes but they very well may end up using them if they are attacked in return.

Americans know little of what is going on beyond our shores. One of the first things that I now do every morning is check the news to see whether either Iran or Israel has attacked the other. Sometime during the next three months, I expect to wake up — or perhaps go to sleep — to a siren on Drudge.
