As a child I lived in a family which discussed almost any matter under the sun at the dinner table. Politics, current events, religion and science were but a few of the interests covered at any and every meal. As the youngest, the only way to hold my own was to become a ravenous reader and a deep thinker. All ideas had merit as long as you could back them up through reasoned discussion. We were encouraged to always think for ourselves and examine all points of view. Fortunately for me, I took all this to heart and finally discovered my true heritage as a child of God through Christ about 13 years ago. It has been an interesting journey to move from being a person who relied on intellect to find that success in life is through the heart and not the head.

My interest in politics and current events and the like has not diminished one iota since those far away days of childhood. The only things that have changed are the conclusions I now form about what I see and hear.

I no longer take either myself or the world as seriously as I once did and I believe that is in line with God as I think he has the greatest sense of humor of all. The only thing I do take seriously these days is building lasting relationships with the people around me and delighting in the love of God through Jesus Christ. Everything else is fair game for a laugh.
